Spin Hall magnetoresistance across a paramagnetic Pt/NdGaO3 interface

In recent years, spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) has emerged as an efficient way to probe the spontaneous magnetization state in ordered magnetic systems, by electrical current. Less known is its versatility a of materials that do not possess such paramagnets. this work, SMR used paramagnetic NdGaO3 (NGO), rare earth oxide, possessing sizable orbit interaction (L=6). NGO been investigated earlier for efficiency propagating spins. We have performed extensive temperature and angle dependent-magnetoresistance (ADMR) studies along dissimilar crystallographic axes NGO, using platinum (Pt) injector detector utilizing (inverse) effect. find close correlation between dependence ADMR response with linear current bias amplitudes. These are chacteristics effect Pt/NGO, arising from torque acting on localized moments considering crystal field induced intermultiplet transitions temperature. Control experiments Pt/SrTiO3 Pt/SiO2 devices were also carried out order validate observed Pt/NGO bilayer rule magnetoresistive contributions Pt.
